Time to have our mindsets challenged, in the area of speech! Are you ready? Here goes...Part I
It's time for us as believers, and as intercessors to remember what we speak IS really important. That often means that we need to remember 'who' we are speaking to. Too often we use language in the church, that World doesn't know what we're talking about. We've developed our own 'lingo'. But to help the world understand the Kingdom of God, we need to make a shift in our language. Or in other words, we need to speak PLAIN english.
As intercessors, when we have access to pray in different spheres of influence, we are going to have communicate with words others will understand. When the areas and leaders of influence can understand what we're saying, they'll be more eager to hear what we have to say - especially when God speak to them through us!! But if they can't understand what we're talking about, they won't be excited about what God has to say,and more likely, they'll be turned off by our religiosity!
When you learn the language of the areas of influence that God releases you into, you'll earn the right to speak into their lives.
I believer that has we are given more access out into the World, we will need to learn to speak the Word without quoting the Word. Confused? Don't be! The Word is often best received when we don't have to quote chapter and verse. Jesus often did this didn't He? He presented Kingdom principals through stories, and parables. His primary way of teaching was using word pictures and stories. With the religious people, He spoke their language. But often to the general public, he spoke in their language - while still speaking ' the Word'.
Intercessors: be sensitive to the ones you are privileged to pray for and with! Honor them, and respect them by praying in ways and words that they will understand. When I pray for unbelievers, I keep my prayers short..and always pray in 'relevant' language. I don't use Christian 'buzz' words. What I speak when I pray IS important!
Interesting isn't it? When I train the people for our church's 'altar ministry', I actually give them a list of 'religious' words NOT to use when praying for people. As more and more are coming out of the world to the church, I want our prayer people to not rely on buzz words, or lingo, that only Christians who have been immersed in the church culture can understand. Why? Because you never know the history or background of the person you're praying for...and I want to make sure that every person who gets prayer in our church, gets prayer they understand! Is it a challenge sometimes ? Yes! But is it worth it..? You bet!

The Intercessor's Breakfast Club
Well, I've been thrilled with the response to our Prayer Conference, and also to the session on the different types of Intercessors! So many people have asked me about doing some more in depth study of the different intercessors, that I've opted to have a Breakfast Club! We'll be meeting at City Blends on Clearbrook Road, in Abbotsford on Saturdays . The first meeting will be in March. I'll give you the date to meet with us, if you contact me.
If you're interested in coming - please RVSP me through the website!
It's gonna be GREAT!
